Inspirations: Forms conjured from the past; vessels, baskets, bowls.
Integrated with the elements, fire, water, stone & experienced in a contemporary cultural environment.
Design: The design was collaborative effort between Brian and Matthew aka TwinkleToes.
The forms were loosly derived from the basketry crafted by the early indigenous people of Coastal California.
This work was a commission for the National Parks Service, Surfrider Foundation, and Burning Man, as the piees were to be experienced in nature the choice of using basalt as a material was made and was inspired by its inherent close connection with the natural world, fire, and water.
